Tidermène is a village andcercle inMénaka Region of southeasternMali.^[4] In the 2009 census it had a population of 5,816.^[3] Its area is approximately 29,000 square kilometers.^[5] It was previously acommune inMénaka Cercle but was promoted to the status of acercle whenMénaka Region was created in 2016. From 2001 to 2016 the commune ofAlata was separated from Tidermène.^[6] On 12 April 2023, the town was seized by theIslamic State in the Sahel.^[7]
