Surgical incision of the larynx through the thyroid cartilage

Thyrotomy may also refer to the cutting orbiopsy thethyroid gland.

Thyrotomy (also calledthyroidotomy,median laryngotomy,laryngofissure orthyrofissure) is an incision of thelarynx through thethyroid cartilage.
