Thymbrara (Ancient Greek:Θύμβραρα) was a town ofancient Lydia, nearSardis, not far from the small riverPactolus. The contingents of thePersian army furnished by the inhabitants of Asia Minor used to assemble at Thymbara.[1] It may be the same place asThybarna cited byDiodorus Siculus.[2]
Its site is located nearDurasıllı inAsiatic Turkey.[3][4]
