Thriprayar is a town inThrissur District ofKerala,India. It is famous for theThriprayar Temple.[1] It is a part of Thrissur Metropolitan Area. It has one of the 4 temples which is visited in Nalambalam Yatra(Rama-Bharta-Lakshmana-Shaturghna).
TheThriprayar Temple[2] was originally under the domain of the Zamorins, rulers ofCalicut. It later came under the possession of theDutch, thenMysore Sultans and the rulers ofCochin. Now it is one of the several temples[3] governed byCochin Devaswom Board.
The town is centered on the Sree Rama Temple[4](Thriprayar Temple) Triprayar is about 23 km away from GuruvayoorSri Krishna temple and 20 km away fromIrinjalakuda temple,Kodungallur temple is 24 km away. The nearest railhead isThrissur, 22 km east of the temple.[5][6][7]
