Thor Lok Chun-wai (Chinese:駱振偉; born 19 October 1984) is a Hong Kong actor and television host. JoiningViuTV at its launch in 2016, he gained public recognition for hosting the music programChill Club (2019–present). Lok won Best Supporting Actor in the 7th People's Choice Television Awards for his role as Yuen Tin-chau in the ViuTV sports drama seriesRope a Dope (2022).
Lok was born on 19 October 1984 in Hong Kong.[1] He scored 24 marks in theHong Kong Certificate of Education Examination and enrolled atHong Kong Polytechnic University to pursue aBachelor of Science in hotel management.[2][3] While at university in 2004, Lok participated in a radio host contest organized byRTHK and worked part-time as a radio host for RTHK's subsidiary channelTeenPower [zh] after winning.[4][5] After graduating in 2006, he spent a year working as a flight attendant forCathay Pacific.[5][6] In 2007, at the age of 22, he joined theNew Talent Singing Awards,[7] citing his interest in performance since a young age as the motivation to join the competition and he planned to enter showbiz in his twenties.[6] He won the championship withDeep Ng's "Chess King".[6] Following the competition, Lok was signed byEmperor Entertainment Group as a singer.[7] However, due to a company restructure, his singing debut was indefinitely postponed, and he never recorded a single song before his contract expired three years later.[6] During this time, he worked various part-time jobs, including in sticker manufacturing, to make a living.[8]
After leaving Emperor Entertainment Group, Lok joinedNow TV as a television host in 2010.[9] In 2016, he transferred toViuTV, the newly launched free television channel under Now TV, as a host and actor,[6][10] making his acting debut in the romance series3X1 that same year.[11] In 2017, Lok landed his first major role as Soda, the right-hand man of a gangster played byDavid Siu, in the mystery thriller seriesPsycho Detective [zh].[12] He also became a recurring host on the talk show Men's Talk as part of ViuTV'sNight Talk [zh] series.[13] The following year, he continued to take on lead roles in ViuTV dramasLost in Shell [zh] andPlan B [zh],[14][15] and made his film debut as a member of the main dragonboat team inSunny Chan's 2018 dramaMen On The Dragon [zh].[1]

In 2019, Lok starred in a leading role in the black comedy seriesHong Kong West Side Stories [zh] and had a recurring role in the sitcomShowman's Show [zh].[6][16] He was invited to host ViuTV's flagship music programChill Club [zh] in the same year, with producer Yip Chi-man stating that he chose Lok due to his comedic performance inHong Kong West Side Stories.[6] This show brought Lok public recognition,[17][18] and he was the only host to remain for the second season.[6] That same year, he played Lok Chun-sing, a love-seekingUber driver, in the sci-fi anthology seriesThe Republic [zh].[19] Shum Ngo-ming ofMing Pao praised Lok's performance as "natural" in his review for the series, and he attributed his acting abilities as the reason for him being cast as the lead in several ViuTV series consecutively.[20]
In 2020, Lok released his first solo single, "Mature Not".[21][22] He had originally requested ViuTV's CEO,Lo Ting-fai [zh], to perform theme songs for television series, but Lo instead tailor-made the single for him.[6] In 2021, he landed a major role as a retired contract killer codenamed Bullet in the drama seriesInk at Tai Ping [zh], followed by a supporting lead role in the 2022 dramaInevitable [zh].[23][24] He also appeared in supporting roles in the crime filmsBreakout Brothers 2 andBreakout Brothers 3 [zh].[25]
In 2022, Lok received his breakout role as Yuen Tin-chau, a boxing champion, in the sports drama seriesRope a Dope [zh].[26] His performance, particularly his death scene, garnered widespread acclaim,[27] and he won Best Supporting Actor for this role in the7th People's Choice Television Awards [zh] the following year.[28] In 2023, he starred as Chow Sai-man, a selfish teacher who was forced to participate in abattle royal, in the thriller seriesLeft On Read [zh].[29][30] The following year, he landed another leading role in the boxing-themed sports drama seriesWarriors Within 2 [zh].[31]
Lok married Danish woman Katrine Friis Olsen in 2019 after dating for five years, and they held their wedding in Denmark.[32][33] They announced their divorce on 26 April 2025.[34]
