TheThomas Bond Sprague Prize is a prize awarded annually to the student or students showing the greatest distinction inactuarial science,finance,insurance,mathematics of operational research,probability,risk andstatistics in theMaster of Mathematics/Master of AdvancedStudies examinations of theUniversity of Cambridge, also known as Part III of the Mathematical Tripos.[1] The prize is named afterThomas Bond Sprague, the only person to have been president of both theInstitute of Actuaries in London and theFaculty of Actuaries in Edinburgh. It is awarded by theRollo Davidson Trust[2] ofChurchill College, Cambridge, following a donation by D. O. Forfar, MA, FFA, FRSE (alumnus of Trinity College, Cambridge), former AppointedActuary ofScottish Widows.[3]
