Thomas Henry Archer Houblon[1] was anAnglicanpriest in the early 20th century.[2]
He was born into an ecclesiastical family on 9 October 1849 atBrighton inEast Sussex. He was the son of Rev. Thomas Archer Houblon MA, sometimeRector ofPeasemore[3] and his wife, Eleanor Deedes; and grandson of John Archer Houblon ofWelford Park in Berkshire andHallingbury Place inEssex.John Houblon, the Governor of theBank of England, was his ancestral uncle. He was educated atRadley andChrist Church.[4] He wasordained in 1874 and wasCurate ofWantage until his appointment to his father's old parish atPeasemore in 1876. He wasRector ofWantage from 1881 until[5] 1903 and thenArchdeacon of Oxford until his retirement in 1921. He died on 23 November 1933.
