Thiruporur taluk is ataluk inChengalpattu district of theIndian state ofTamil Nadu. The headquarters of the taluk is the town ofThiruporur.
This taluk was created by the formerchief ministerJ.Jayalalithaa in 2012 bifurcatingChengalpattu Taluk due to population increase.[2]
Thiruporur taluk was previously a part of theKanchipuram district. After the bifurcation of Kanchipuram district, Thiruporur taluk became a part of the Chengalpattu district.
The taluk is administered by the Tahsildar office located in Thiruporur.[3]
