It includes three groups ofalmshouses,^[1][2][3] a Grade IIlisted church (St Elizabeth of Portugal Church)^[4] andClarence House, a 17th-century Grade II listed house associated withBernardo O’Higgins,^[5][6] who is commemorated on the wall of the property with ablue plaque, installed byEnglish Heritage, for his role in theChilean War of Independence.^{[6][nb 1][7]}
