"The Thin Air" is a 1952 American television play that was an episode ofThe Philco Television Playhouse.[1][2]

It was based on the real lifedisappearance of Dorothy Arnold.[3]

Elliott also adapted the script for radio, and a play version was broadcast in Australia in 1954 forThe General Motors Hour.[4]

The Age wrote "it made excellent listening."[5]

Elliott reworked the material for "Whereabouts Unknown", an episode ofThe Kaiser Aluminum Hour starringMacDonald Carey and Kim Hunter.[6][7]

TheBuffalo News wrote "Kim Hunter had a great role and she lived it up to the hilt... the play built to a poignant finale."[8]

TheAtlanta Journal called it a "superficial drama" which "wasted the talents of Kim Hunter."[9]
