The Judgment Day is avillainousprofessional wrestlingstable performing inWWE on theRawbrand. The group is composed ofFinn Bálor,Dominik Mysterio,JD McDonagh,Liv Morgan,Raquel Rodriguez andRoxanne Perez. The group also appears in sister promotionLucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) where Mysterio is the currentAAA Mega Champion in hisfirst reign.

The stable was founded in 2022 byEdge atWrestleMania 38,Damian Priest andRhea Ripley joined soon after. Edge was then expelled from the group following Bálor's addition. Following his removal, a no leadership ideology was implemented. Later that year, Mysterio betrayedhis father to join the group after initially feuding against them. In 2023, Bálor recruited McDonagh. After associating themselves with The Judgment Day beforehand,Carlito and Morgan joined the group in 2024 as replacements following Priest and Ripley's expulsions from the group atSummerSlam. Rodriguez subsequently joined the group atBad Blood, while Perez joined in 2025, shortly after Carlito left WWE.

The Judgment Day have achieved several championship milestones, capturing theWorld Heavyweight Championship once (Priest), theWomen's World Championship twice (Ripley, Morgan), theAAA Mega Championship once (Mysterio), theWWE Intercontinental Championship once (Mysterio), and theNXT North American Championship twice (Mysterio), as well as a total of nine tag titles. They are the second stable (afterThe Bloodline) to have simultaneously held titles across all three brands. Also as part of the stable, Ripley won the2023 women's Royal Rumble, whereas Priest won the2023 men's Money in the Bank contract.

History

Formation and Edge's leadership (2022)

On the February 21, 2022, episode ofRaw,Edge reflected on all theWrestleMania moments in his career before issuing an open challenge forWrestleMania 38.[1] The following week, his challenge was accepted byAJ Styles, to which Edge responded by performing alow blow on Styles before hitting him with a one-mancon-chair-to, turningheel.[2] At Night 2 of WrestleMania on April 3, Edge defeated Styles following a distraction byDamian Priest.[3] Following WrestleMania, Edge and Priest revealed The Judgment Day as the name of the team.[4] AtWrestleMania Backlash on May 8, despite Priest being barred from ringside, Edge defeated Styles again after interference from a masked individual, later revealed to beRhea Ripley, who became the stable's newest member.[5]

AtHell in a Cell on June 5, The Judgment Day defeated Styles,Finn Bálor, andLiv Morgan in asix-person mixed tag team match.[6] The next night onRaw, Edge introduced Bálor as the newest member of The Judgment Day, however, Bálor, Priest, and Ripley suddenly attacked Edge with his own signature con-chair-to move, kicking him out of the group.[7][8] The following week, on the June 13 episode ofRaw, Ripley, Priest and Bálor appeared on the titantron, interruptingBianca Belair's interview in the ring where they explained their actions and declared that the group would consist of equality with no leaders.[9]

Expansion and championship success (2022–2024)

The Judgment Day then began a feud withThe Mysterios (Rey Mysterio andDominik Mysterio) in an attempt to recruit Dominik into their ranks.[10][11][12] On July 30, Bálor and Priest lost to the Mysterios atSummerSlam after interference from the returning Edge.[13] AtClash at the Castle on September 3, Bálor and Priest lost to Edge and Rey. After the match, Dominik attacked Edge with a low blow, followed by a clothesline to Rey, turningheel for the first time in his career.[14] Two days later onRaw, Dominik officially joined The Judgment Day by helping the group attack Edge and Rey.[15] On the following episode ofRaw, Dominik lost to Edge by disqualification after interference from The Judgment Day, who attacked Edge's leg with a steel chair after the match.[16] On the September 26 episode ofRaw, Edge returned and challenged Bálor to an"I Quit" match atExtreme Rules, which Bálor accepted.[17] At the event on October 8, Bálor defeated Edge. In the closing moments, Ripley positioned Edge's wife,Beth Phoenix, for a con-chair-to and Edge reluctantly submitted. After the match, Ripley still performed the con-chair-to on Phoenix.[18]

Around this time, The Judgment Day continued recruiting Styles, who turned down several offers to join the group. On the October 10 episode ofRaw, Styles seemingly accepted their offer, but rejected it and introduced the returningLuke Gallows andKarl Anderson; a brawl then ensued between the two teams.[19] AtCrown Jewel on November 5, Bálor, Priest, and Dominik defeatedThe O.C. (Styles, Anderson and Gallows) after interference from Ripley.[20] On the following episode ofRaw, The O.C. introduced the returningMia Yim as their solution to counter Ripley.[21] AtSurvivor Series WarGames on November 26, Bálor lost to Styles while Ripley's team lost to TeamBelair in aWarGames match.[22][23] On the following episode ofRaw, The Judgment Day defeated The O.C. in an eight-person mixed tag team match to end their feud.[24]

On the January 9, 2023 episode ofRaw, Bálor, Priest and Dominik won a tag team turmoil match to win aRaw Tag Team Championship match againstThe Usos (Jey Uso andJimmy Uso).[25] AtRaw is XXX on January 23, Priest and Dominik failed to win the titles afterSami Zayn replaced an injured Jimmy Uso.[26] AtRoyal Rumble on January 28, Dominik, Bálor, and Priest participated in the men'sRoyal Rumble match. Bálor and Priest were eliminated by Edge, while Dominik was eliminated by the eventual winner,Cody Rhodes. Ripley also appeared at ringside to assist Bálor, Priest, and Dominik in their attack on Edge after eliminating him in turn, only to be attacked by Beth Phoenix.[27] Later that night, Ripley won the women's Royal Rumble match by last eliminatingLiv Morgan. With this victory, Ripley became the fourth wrestler (afterShawn Michaels in 1995,Chris Benoit in 2004, and Edge in 2021) and the first female to win the Royal Rumble as the first entrant.[28] On the following episode ofRaw, Ripley declared that she would be challengingCharlotte Flair for theSmackDown Women's Championship atWrestleMania 39. Flair previously won the2020 Women's Royal Rumble and defeated Ripley for theNXT Women's Championship atWrestleMania 36.[29]

AtElimination Chamber on February 18, Bálor and Ripley lost to Edge and Phoenix in amixed tag team match despite interference from Dominik,[30] while Priest failed to win theUnited States Championship inside thenamesake structure after he was eliminated byMontez Ford.[31] At Night 1 of WrestleMania 39 on April 1, Dominik lost to Rey after interference from the newly reformedLatino World Order (LWO) andBad Bunny.[32] Later that night, Ripley defeated Flair to win the SmackDown Women's Championship, becoming the seventhWomen's Triple Crown champion, the fifthWomen's Grand Slam champion, and giving the group their first championship.[33] On Night 2, Bàlor, under his Demon persona, lost to Edge in aHell in a Cell match to end the rivalry.[34] During the match, Bálor suffered an injury after getting hit by a ladder thrown by Edge and was medically treated in the ring; the injury led to Bálor getting 14 staples in his head.[35]

On theRaw after WrestleMania, Priest confronted Bad Bunny for his involvement in Dominik's match against Rey, chokeslamming him through the announce table.[36] AtBacklash on May 6, Ripley successfully defended her title againstZelina Vega,[37] while Priest lost to Bunny in a San Juanstreet fight after interference fromSavio Vega andCarlito.[38] Balor and Priest participated in a tournament for the newWorld Heavyweight Championship, but they were both eliminated by the eventual championSeth "Freakin" Rollins.[39] AtNight of Champions on May 27, Ripley retained her title againstNatalya.[40] On the June 12 episode ofRaw, the SmackDown Women's Championship was renamed to the Women's World Championship and Ripley was presented a brand-new championship belt.[41] AtMoney in the Bank on July 1, Priest won theMoney in the Bank ladder match, while Bálor failed to win the World Heavyweight Championship from Rollins after an unintended distraction by Priest.[42] On July 18, Dominik defeatedWes Lee onNXT to win theNXT North American Championship, the first singles title in his wrestling career.[43] AtSummerSlam on August 5, Bálor again failed to win the World Heavyweight Championship from Rollins despite interference from Priest.[44] Following the event, Bálor's longtime friendJD McDonagh became involved with the stable, much to the chagrin of the other members.[45][46][47]

AtPayback on September 2, Bálor and Priest defeatedKevin Owens and Sami Zayn to win theUndisputed WWE Tag Team Championship in aPittsburghSteel CityStreet Fight after interference from Dominik, Ripley and McDonagh. With this victory, Bálor became the 24thGrand Slam Champion and The Judgment Day became the second faction afterThe Bloodline to hold titles across all three brands. Later that night, Ripley retained the Women's World Championship againstRaquel Rodriguez.[48] AtNXT No Mercy on September 30, Dominik lost the NXT North American Championship toTrick Williams, ending his first reign at 74 days.[49] Following an ultimatum from Ripley, Dominik regained the title from Williams three days later onNXT.[50][51] AtFastlane on October 7, Bálor and Priest lost the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship to Cody Rhodes andJey Uso after McDonagh accidentally hit Priest's knee with the briefcase, ending their first reign at 35 days.[52] Nine days later onRaw, they regained the titles after interference fromJimmy Uso.[53]

On the November 13 episode ofRaw, Priest and the rest of the group agreed to officially add McDonagh to their ranks as a full-fledged member. Priest and Bálor then retained their titles against Rhodes and Uso after interference from McIntyre.[54] AtSurvivor Series: WarGames on November 25, Ripley defeated Stark to retain her title, while The Judgment Day and McIntyre lost to Rhodes, Rollins, Uso, Zayn and the returningRandy Orton in a WarGames match.[55] On December 9, atNXT Deadline, Dominik lost the NXT North American Championship toDragon Lee, ending his second reign at 67 days.[56] The group then began feuding withR-Truth over his efforts to join them.[57][58] On the December 18 episode ofRaw, McDonagh lost to R-Truth in aLoser Leaves Judgment DayMiracle on 34thStreet Fight match, but was still considered a member of the group. Later that night, Bálor and Priest retained the titles against theCreed Brothers.[59] On January 1, 2024, Ripley retained her title against theirDiamond Mine stablemateIvy Nile atRaw: Day 1.[60] AtElimination Chamber: Perth on February 24, Bálor and Priest defeatedNew Catch Republic (Pete Dunne andTyler Bate) to retain their titles, while Ripley, in her home country of Australia, successfully defended her title against Jax in the main event.[61] At Night 1 ofWrestleMania XL on April 6, Ripley retained her title againstBecky Lynch, while Bálor and Priest lost the SmackDown Tag Team Championship toA-Town Down Under (Austin Theory andGrayson Waller) and the Raw Tag Team Championship toAwesome Truth (The Miz and R-Truth) respectively in asix-pack tag team ladder match, ending their second reign with the undisputed titles at 173 days. Later that night, Dominik andSantos Escobar lost to Rey andAndrade.[62]

The following day, at Night 2 of WrestleMania XL, Priest successfully cashed in his Money in the Bank contract onDrew McIntyre to win theWorld Heavyweight Championship following an attack byCM Punk.[63] On the April 8 episode ofRaw, Ripley was attacked in a backstage segment byLiv Morgan, during which Ripley legitimately injured her right arm and was forced to vacate the Women's World Championship the following week, ending her reign at 380 days, tyingBayley's record for the longest reign in the title's history.[64][65] AtBacklash France on May 4, Priest successfully defended the World Heavyweight Championship againstJey Uso.[66] Around this time,Carlito, who had just recently turned on his LWO stablemates, began to insert himself into the group, but was kept at arm's length by Priest, citing their past conflict.[67] AtClash at the Castle: Scotland on June 15, despite The Judgment Day being barred from ringside, Priest defeated McIntyre to retain his title after interference from Punk.[68]

Changes in formation (2024–present)

During Ripley's absence, a storyline of dissension and betrayals began where Dominik was seduced by Morgan. Dominik seemingly accidentally helped Morgan win the Women's World Championship fromBecky Lynch on May 25 atKing and Queen of the Ring,[69] and seemingly accidentally helped her retain in asteel cage match two nights later onRaw.[70] Morgan would also aid the group in their matches, helping Bálor and McDonagh win the World Tag Team Championship from Awesome Truth (The Miz and R-Truth) on the June 24 episode ofRaw.[71] On the July 8 episode ofRaw, Dominik teamed with Morgan to defeat Rey Mysterio and Zelina Vega after he pinned his father. After the match, just as Dominik was about to kiss Morgan, he was confronted by the returning Ripley.[72]

On August 3, atSummerSlam, Ripley failed to regain the Women's World Championship from Morgan following a distraction by Dominik, who kissed Morgan and left with her afterwards, while Priest lost the World Heavyweight Championship toGunther after interference from Bálor.[73] On the following episode ofRaw, Ripley and Priest were removed from the group as Carlito and Morgan became official members. AtBad Blood on October 5, Morgan lost to Ripley by disqualification after the returningRaquel Rodriguez attacked Ripley, allowing Morgan to remain champion since titles do not change hands via countout or disqualification unless stipulated. Rodriguez also became the group's newest member.[74] AtCrown Jewel on November 2, Morgan defeatedWWE Women's ChampionNia Jax to win the inauguralWWE Women's Crown Jewel Championship after interference from Dominik and Rodriguez.[75] AtSurvivor Series WarGames on November 30, Morgan and Rodriguez teamed up with Jax,Tiffany Stratton andCandice LeRae against Ripley,Bianca Belair,Iyo Sky,Bayley andNaomi in aWarGames match in a losing effort, with Morgan being pinned by Ripley.[76] Bálor and McDonagh lost the tag titles toThe War Raiders (Erik andIvar) on the December 16 episode ofRaw while Morgan lost the women's title to Ripley at theRaw premiere on Netflix on January 6.[77][78]

On the January 27 episode ofRaw, Dominik and McDonagh failed to regain the titles from The War Raiders. During the match, McDonagh suffered an injury after he attempted amoonsault to the outside but his body bounced off the announce table. Despite finishing the match, McDonagh later revealed he had suffered broken ribs and a punctured lung, putting him out of action for a couple of months.[79] On the February 24 episode ofRaw, Morgan and Rodriguez defeated Belair and Naomi to win theWWE Women's Tag Team Championship after interference from Dominik. With this victory, The Judgment Day became the first faction to have won both men's and women's tag team titles.[80]

Over the next few months, both Bálor and Dominik began to pursue theIntercontinental Championship as tensions between them increased. On Night 2 ofWrestleMania 41 on April 20, Dominik won the title fromBron Breakker in afatal four-way match that also involvedPenta and Bálor, with Dominik pinning Bálor after a frog splash while Morgan and Rodriguez lost the tag titles toLyra Valkyria and the returning Lynch, ending their reign at 55 days.[81] The next night onRaw, Morgan and Rodriguez regained the titles from Lynch and Valkyria in a rematch while Dominik successfully defended his title against Penta after an assist from Carlito and the returning McDonagh. AtBacklash on May 10, Dominik defeated Penta in a rematch to retain his title.[82] Around the same time, Balor started bringingRoxanne Perez in as an associate, furthering tension within the group. On May 31, 2025, Carlito returned toWWC at Summer Madness, where he defeatedRay González to win theWWC Puerto Rico Heavyweight Championship.[83] In June 2025, Carlito’s contract with WWE expired and he was quietly removed from the stable.[84] On the June 16 episode ofRaw, Morgan suffered a legitimate dislocated shoulder during a match againstKairi Sane which required surgery, ruling Morgan out of action for several months.[85]

On the June 30 episode ofRaw, Bálor and McDonagh defeatedThe New Day (Kofi Kingston andXavier Woods) to win theWorld Tag Team Championship for the second time as a team and Perez was formally added to the group, officially replacing Morgan as Women's Tag Team Champion, thus becoming an all champions group once again (Intercontinental, Women's Tag and World Tag Team Titles).[86] AtEvolution, the newly-formed duo defended their title in afatal four-way tag team match againstCharlotte Flair andAlexa Bliss,Sol Ruca andZaria, andThe Kabuki Warriors.[87] On Night 1 ofSummerSlam on August 2, Perez and Rodriguez lost the tag titles to Flair and Bliss, ending their reign at 33 days.[88]

WhenLucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) was acquired by WWE in April 2025, WWE personnel began making appearances at their events. Judgment Day appeared atTriplemanía XXXIII,[89] andWorlds Collide: Las Vegas.[90] Prominently, after failing to win the title at the former, at the latter event on September 12, Dominik defeatedEl Hijo del Vikingo to win theAAA Mega Championship, becoming a double champion as well as the first wrestler to hold championships in WWE and AAA simultaneously.[91] On the October 20 episode ofRaw, Bálor and McDonagh lost the tag titles toAJ Styles andDragon Lee, ending their second reign at 112 days.[92] On the November 10 episode ofRaw, Mysterio lost the Intercontinental Championship toJohn Cena, ending his reign at 204 days.[93]
