The Hoxton is a Britishhotel chain owned by Ennismore.[1]

History

The Hoxton brand was founded in 2006 by Sinclair Beecham, co-founder ofPret A Manger.[2] It launched withThe Hoxton, Shoreditch,[3] built on a former car park on Great Eastern Street in East London.[4] In 2012, Ennismore, owned bySharan Pasricha, acquiredThe Hoxton, Shoreditch and the brand.[5] Pasricha has held the position ofCEO since 2012.[6] In 2013, Ennismore initiated a refurbishment and rebranding programme.

Locations

The Hoxton opened its first site inShoreditch in 2006, before expanding toHolborn in 2014,Amsterdam in 2015, andParis in 2017. They opened a further two hotels in 2018, one inWilliamsburg and one inPortland followed by properties inChicago,Southwark, andDowntown Los Angeles in 2019 before a 2021 opening inRome. Most recently, The Hoxton opened inBarcelona (2022), followed by a fourth London hotel inShepherd's Bush (2022), and new European locations inBerlin andBrussels in 2023,Vienna in 2024 andDublin in 2025.[7]

The Dublin hotel caused controversy in February 2025 by seeking an injunction against Yamamori Izakaya, a long-established live music bar and restaurant beside it.[8][9]
