The Grimm Variations (Japanese:グリム組曲,Hepburn:Gurimu Kumikyoku;lit. 'Grimm's Suite') is a Japaneseoriginal net animation (ONA) anthology series produced byWit Studio. Based on theBrothers Grimmfairy tales, the series was released worldwide onNetflix on April 17, 2024.[1]
In February 2020, before any promotional material was shown off,Netflix announced a collaboration of six mangaka, including the group of female artists collectively known asClamp.[3] In June 2021, a promotional teaser poster was unveiled albeit just a key visual and the Netflix logo.[4] It was also revealed thatWit Studio would be producing the anime series,[4] withMichiko Yokote serving as its scriptwriter.[5] In March 2024, it was announced that the title of the project wasThe Grimm Variations and that Akira Miyagawa would be composing the music.[1][6] At theAnimeJapan 2024 convention, the episode titles were revealed, with each episode directed by a different director.[7]
Every episode was written by Michiko Yokote.
