The Game Awards 2015 was an award show that honored the bestvideo games of 2015. It was produced and hosted byGeoff Keighley at theMicrosoft Theater inLos Angeles on December 3, 2015.The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt won the show'sGame of the Year award. The event featured live performances fromChvrches,Ben Harper,Stephanie Joosten andDeadmau5.[1]
The ceremony featured several game premieres,[2] includingTelltale Games'sBatman: The Telltale Series andThe Walking Dead: Michonne,Double Fine Productions'sPsychonauts 2 andHarmonix'sRock Band VR. There were also new trailers for upcoming games, includingUbisoft'sFar Cry Primal,Naughty Dog'sUncharted 4: A Thief's End,Remedy Entertainment'sQuantum Break andCloud Imperium Games'sStar Citizen. Ports and remasters were also announced including anXbox One port forPsyonix'sRocket League and a remastered version ofChair Entertainment'sShadow Complex.
Thebroadcast saw a totalviewership of around 2.3 million.[3]
The nominees for The Game Awards 2015 were announced on November 13, 2015. Candidate games must have a commercial release date on or before November 24, 2015 to be eligible.[4]
