District 11 is a district in theTexas House of Representatives. It was created in the3rd legislature (1849–1851).
The district has been represented by RepublicanJoanne Shofner since January 8, 2013, upon her initial election to the Texas House.[1]
As a result of redistricting after the 2020 Federal census, from the 2022 elections the district encompasses all ofNacogdoches,Newton,Panola,Rusk,Sabine, andShelby Counties. Major cities in the district includeCarthage,Center,Hemphill,Henderson,Nacogdoches, andNewton.[2]Stephen F. Austin State University is in the district, as is the Texas portion ofToledo Bend Reservoir.
