Teryl Rothery (born November 9, 1962)[1] is a Canadian actress of stage, television, and film. She is best known for portraying Dr.Janet Fraiser in the TV seriesStargate SG-1.[2] She co-starred as Grace Sherman inCedar Cove, and has had major roles as Muriel inVirgin River,Jean Loring inArrow and Celia Hudson inNancy Drew. She has been involved in a number of television movies, particularly forHallmark Entertainment.

Rothery began dance lessons at age nine, and in 1995 looked upon that as the beginning of her career in entertainment.[3] Her first professional outings as a performer were in the musicalBye Bye Birdie at age 13[4] and in theMarpole Community Theatre's production ofThe Sound of Music at age 14. As a youth, she danced onThe Irish Rovers variety television series,[3] and at age 18, she first appeared on television with aCanadian Broadcasting Corporationtelevision special forHalloween.[4] From ages 19–27, Rothery switched to radio, variously working and performing forCJAZ-FM,KISS-FM, andCKWX.[3]
For her performance inA Delicate Balance, Rothery was nominated for aJessie Richardson Theatre Award (2006–2007) in the category of "Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role, Small Theatre".[5] In 2008, she was nominated for aLeo Award (in the category of "Best Performance by a Female in a Short Drama") for performing inCoffee Diva;[6] she was nominated again in 2009 ("Best Supporting Performance by a Female in a Dramatic Series") for her work onThe Guard.[7] Two more Leo nominations were for acting inThe Collector, and portrayingJanet Fraiser inStargate SG-1.[4]
Rothery describes herself as a native ofVancouver, British Columbia, Canada,[4] having been raised there by her grandparents.[3] She has a daughter, Londyn, born in 2008.[8]
Rothery was raised Catholic.[9]
