Terry Simpson (born August 30, 1943) is aCanadian former professionalice hockey player and a formerNHL head coach.
Born inBrantford,Ontario, Simpson only played one season of professional ice hockey in 1964–65 for theJacksonville Rockets of theEHL. He was the head coach of theNew York Islanders,Philadelphia Flyers, andWinnipeg Jets.
Simpson had a notable coaching career injunior hockey for 10 years with thePrince Albert Raiders. He led the team to seven consecutiveAnavet Cups and fourManitoba Centennial Cup titles. After the Raiders joined theWestern Hockey League, he led them to the1985 Memorial Cup championship.[1]
Due to his success with the Raiders, the city ofPrince Albert named the road leading to theArt Hauser Centre "Terry Simpson Lane" in his honour.
