Terri Britt (born November 19, 1961). is an American former beauty pageant winner and author.

Britt is a former news anchor forMovieTime, nowE!, and was crownedMiss USA 1982.[2]

Early life

Britt was born inLittle Rock, Arkansas, on the 19th of November 1961. As a young woman, Britt was involved in theAmerican Legion AuxiliaryGirls State program.[3] She was also vice-president of theCabot High School class of 1980.[4]

Britt won her first major pageant title,Miss Arkansas USA, in early 1982. She went on to win the titleMiss USA[5] in the nationally televised pageant held inBiloxi, Mississippi in May 1982. She was twenty years old at the time.

Britt went on to represent theUnited States in theMiss Universe pageant inLima, Peru in July of the same year.[6] In that pageant, she finished as fourth runner-up toKaren Dianne Baldwin ofCanada.[6]

Britt is the firstMiss USA titleholder fromArkansas. After she won the title, no women from Arkansas placed in the pageant until Jessica Furrer's semi-finalist placement in2005. Both women are members ofAlpha Sigma Tau.[6]

Career

After passing on her title, Britt studied journalism, becoming a writer and field producer for the NBC affiliateKCRA-TV News 3 inSacramento.[6] She then became a spokeswoman forMazda. Britt then worked as a news anchor on Movietime television (now known asE!).[7]

Author

Britt went on to writeMessage Sent: Retrieving the Gift of Love,[8] andThe Enlightened Mom: A Mother’s Guide for Bringing Peace, Love & Light to Your Family’s Life,[9] which won theBest Spiritual Book of the Year at both 2011 New York and San Francisco Book Festivals.[10] She is also a contributing author to the bestselling book,Women Gone Wild~Intuition.[11][12]

Since 2000, she has been a spiritual coach.[6][13]

In 2023, she presented aTEDx,Unconditional Self-Love: A New Family Paradigm to carry on her message of helping families get off of the societal hamster wheel to thrive instead of simply survive.[14]

In 2024, Britt was named byLife & Style Magazine as one of theTop 10 Impact Leaders to Follow in 2024.[15]

Personal life

Britt is a wife, mom, stepmom and nana, and resides in the north Georgia mountains where she is the co-owner ofJumpinGoat Coffee Roasters with her husband Charlie Britt.[16]
