Terrence Brooks (born March 2, 1992) is an American former professionalfootballsafety. He playedcollege football for theFlorida State Seminoles and was selected by theBaltimore Ravens in the third round of the2014 NFL draft.
A native ofDunnellon, Florida, Brooks attendedDunnellon High School where herushed for 500 yards and recorded 53tackles, sixinterceptions, and threepass breakups during his junior season.[1]
Considered a three-star recruit byESPN.com, Brooks was listed as the No. 21cornerback prospect of his class.[2] He accepted a scholarship offer fromFlorida State over offers fromMississippi andSouth Florida.[3]
As a senior in 2013, Brooks was a first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) selection and was anAll-American byCBSSports.com.[4][5]

TheBaltimore Ravens selected Brooks in the third round (79th overall) of the2014 NFL draft.[7]
On May 30, 2014, he was signed by the Ravens to a four-year contract[8] On December 16, 2014, Brooks was placed oninjured reserve, ending his rookie campaign.On September 3, 2016, he was released by the Ravens.[9]
On September 4, 2016, Brooks was claimed off waivers by thePhiladelphia Eagles.[10]
On August 27, 2017, Brooks was traded to theNew York Jets in exchange for cornerbackDexter McDougle.[11] In Week 3, Brooks recorded two interceptions, one off quarterbackJay Cutler and the other offMatt Haack, and three passes defensed, helping the Jets earn their first win in a 20–6 victory over theMiami Dolphins, earning himAFC Defensive Player of the Week.[12][13]
On March 14, 2018, Brooks signed a two-year contract extension with the Jets.[14]
On February 19, 2019, the Jets declined the option on Brooks' contract, making him a free agent at the start of the new league year.[15]
On March 14, 2019, Brooks signed a two-year contract with theNew England Patriots.[16]In Week 7 against his former team, the Jets, Brooks recorded his first interception of the season offSam Darnold in the 33–0 win.[17]
On March 23, 2021, Brooks signed a one-year contract with theHouston Texans.[18] He was placed on injured reserve on October 21, 2021, with a lung contusion.[19] He was activated on November 20.[20]
On March 29, 2022, Brooks re-signed with the Texans.[21] He was released on August 30, 2022.[22]
