Temple Adath Israel (transliterated fromHebrew as "Congregation of Israel"[2]: 138 ) is aReformJewish congregation andsynagogue, located at 429 Daviess Street, inOwensboro,Kentucky, in the United States.

The congregation was formed in 1858.[2]: 152

Built in 1877–78,[2]: 138  theMoorish Revivalfaçade of the modest building features aGothic Revival-arched door flanked by a pair of Gothic-arched windows punctuated by fourpilasters. These are surmounted with moldedcapitals and fanciful embellishments. Originally the whole was topped by a parapet with a row of four smallonion domed turrets. In June 2015, the parapet and onion domes were removed to save the roof from water trapped under the parapet.[3][4][5]

The building was listed on theNational Register of Historic Places in March 1986.[6] It is among theoldest synagogue buildings in the United States.[7]
