I know that there is a significant number of Syrians living in Lebanon, most of these people moved there to find jobs, also during the Syrian presence some soldiers who were stationed in Lebanon and had to stay there for long periods of time basically had their families move with them. Another thing, the link Israel in the template brings up the articleSyrian Jews. While some of them indeed emigrated to Israel, I think most Jews in Syria went to North America. I assume the link there is just temporary.Asabbagh10:38, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I thought aboutLebanon for a while but hesitated on including it, mainly because Lebanese and Syrians are of a very closeethnolinguistical family and there have been through history many immigrations and emigrations between the two countries, which creates confusion. So, as you might have noticed in thediaspora article, I said that the group did not include people living in the area historically known asGreater Syria. I don't really know, should we include it? As for Israel, well, I think it's OK to keep the current article because it is likely that a new article on Syrian Israelis will not contain any more information than the Syrian Jews article. Any thoughts? —Anastalk?11:27, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
