Would anyone mind if I replace this template with a compressed version. See, for example, the difference betweenTemplate:Places_in_Bedfordshire andthis version. The idea is that on a given athlete's page, the template would show the other members of the relay team with links to a page for a member of the previous and next couple of gold medal teams. For example, fromRay Armstead's page (or any other member of the 1984 gold medal team) the template might look like:
| Olympic champions in men's 4x400 m relay |
| <<1976 |1980 | 1984United StatesSunder Nix,Ray Armstead,Alonzo Babers,Antonio McKay |1988 |1992>> |
with the reference in the source looking like
I don't think maintenance of such a template would not be particularly more difficult than maintenance of the existing template. Comments? --Rick Block(talk)03:04, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I thought this never actually happened, although it was discussed. Where is the citation that tells us that Nigeria are the 2000 olympic gold medalists?David D.(Talk)15:41, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The template was recently converted to the generic navbox template. I don't really care that much, but I prefer either the previous scrollable navigation bar or something like the current version ofTemplate:Footer Olympic Champions 4x100 m Men. Any other opinions on this? --Rick Block(talk)00:03, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
