Here are some tasks awaiting attention:

Wrong link to the US

[edit]

The link to theUnited States is "The United States", a redirect. Please, fix it. I can't because the page is protected. Thanx. --87.6.27.159 (talk)21:50, 1 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 29 August 2023

[edit]
The following is a closed discussion of arequested move.Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider amove review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was:not moved. Wikipedia's definition of North America includes more than just the three countries of the US, Canada and Mexico, plus there'sTemplate:Americas topic for the full Americas. I see no reason to keep this move discussion open any longer.(closed by non-admin page mover)Skarmory(talk •contribs)17:58, 5 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Asking for a fix would have been a better choice than starting a requested move discussion. Which part of South America is listed in this template? For reference,North America shows and lists the parts of North America. –Jonesey95 (talk)15:57, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Query on when some links are disambiguated, and some are not

[edit]

Having just realised this is a non-standard template syntax after trying to fix it...is there a way to change this template so that its useage on topics that donot disambiguate subjects properly reflects it, when others (including the main topic) do? Example,Saba is a disambiguation page, whileSaba (island) is the one referred to here. But this template's use in{{Flags of North America}} means the link to Saba's flag doesn't display right when on that page, because it's atFlag of Saba, notFlag of Saba (island). Is there any way to work around this? -The BushrangerOne ping only05:35, 16 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I clicked a few links from the template you linked to, and they all worked. If you are still reporting a problem, please give a step-by-step explanation of how to reproduce it. –Jonesey95 (talk)05:21, 17 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The links operate fine. But if you look at the template onFlag of Saba, you'll notice Saba in it is still a link. If you compare that to how the template looks onFlag of Sint Eustatius, note that the link for Sint Eustatius is not there, and instead is bolded text, as it should be for a link in a navbox when you're on its page perWP:BYPASSREDIRECT. -The BushrangerOne ping only05:24, 17 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I see what you are reporting. Thanks for the details. MovingFlag of Saba toFlag of Saba (island) to match the parent article (and disambiguate from a possible but unlikelyFlag of Saba, Iran orFlag of Sabá) would probably resolve the issue. –Jonesey95 (talk)13:21, 17 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Change the link for the text "United States" (in the Sovereign states section) to be toUnited States instead ofThe United States.

Diff:

* [[the_United States |United States]]
+
* [[United States |United States]]

Notdone for now: Please link to a page where this text is causing a problem. Use of|article= will probably fix any issues. –Jonesey95 (talk)17:08, 30 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
