Important note: Although the language code "nan" is valid, it is actually a code representing the whole Southern Min language group (a.k.a. macrolanguage), while the language written in this test project isTeochew.

There is currently a proposal for to split the Southern Min language into seven languages. In this process, the Min-nan ISO code and language name will be retired.

The seven proposed individual languages within this macrolanguage are:

• 1.Xiamen (厦门话, also known as Amoy or Hokkien): xim
• 2.Chaozhou (潮州话, also known as Teochew): dzu
• 3.Hainanese (海南话, also known as Qiongwen): hnl
• 4.Leizhou (雷州话): lzy
• 5.Longyan (龙岩闽语): lyh
• 6.Zhenan (浙南闽语): znm
• 7.Zhongshan (中山闽语): zsh
