Ireland

[edit]
In template is missing UK and there idea of Ireland as part of United Kingdom.--Culo-sija (talk)20:29, 8 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, it's under "Ireland/United Ireland" in the last row. --Funandtrvl (talk)21:01, 8 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No no, it must be a seperate article. United Kingdom's nationalists always wanted Ireland as a part of UK. This way people may think that UK dosen't have nationalists and pretenders on teritory of other countries (like Falkland Islands and India) and template isn't objective.--Culo-sija (talk)21:23, 8 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Category

[edit]

As pointed atWP:PROJCATS, there are content categories and project categories. The content categories are meant to have articles and only articles, while non-article pages go in project categories.

Category:Irredentism is a content category.Category:Nationalism templates is a project category. A template like this one is not an article, it's a non-article page, and can't be included in the first category. What this pageis takes priority over what this pageis about.Cambalachero (talk)03:19, 8 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the clarification there. This may be off-topic, but I have seen numerous templates before being categorised in "content categories". Are they incorrectly categorised thus, and should they be similarly removed? I had applied a similiar logic to this one, hence the revert.Mar4d (talk)03:24, 8 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, the other cases must be fixed as well. I fixed many templates I occasionally found in content categories, but don't know of a way to actually search for all of them and complete the work.Cambalachero (talk)04:18, 8 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"Great Timor"

[edit]

I had deleted Great Timor from the list, as there is not a single Timorese or pro-Timorese source supporting that suppossed "Great Timor". The few and weak sources the article have are from Indonesian sources. Unless proof (not rumours) of that supposed irredentist movement is given, we cannot talk about a "Great Timor" wich it seems to exist only in the minds of Indonesian military and politics...--HCPUNXKID (talk)16:14, 13 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Bangladesh

[edit]

Someone addedGreater Bangladesh to the list, and after removing some added it back (anonymous so no names) with advise that I read the article onirredentism. An edit summary isn't a discussion space, and an edit war isn't a discussion. I reverted with a request to discuss. TheWP:BRD cycle is more than complete.

Please, read the article onGreater Bangladesh, which says it's aconspiracy theory, and not irredentism. If you want it in the template you need to change the article first. Please, adhere to policies and guidelines when making those changes. If you want to include it here while the article says otherwise, then you need to achieve aWP:consensus here, on this talk page.Aditya(talkcontribs)19:16, 7 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Guatemala part of North America?

[edit]

OnGuatemala's own wiki page, it states that it is a Central American country. I might be misunderstanding, but in that case, why is it listed under North America and not a separate Central American section? --HappyWithWhatYouHaveToBeHappyWith (talk)17:08, 29 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Because Central America (alongside the Caribbean and Northern America) is a region in North America. In other words, Guatemala is in North America BECAUSE it is in Central America!gidonb (talk)13:10, 19 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal to remove "Iceland" from Template

[edit]

The dispute over the ownership of the Rockhall (an unpopulated rock in the North Atlantic) is more about economic rights than irredentism. If Iceland is to be included in this template, then so should the UK as they too claim ownership of Rockhall.— Precedingunsigned comment added byCashew.wheel (talkcontribs)11:44, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This form seems backwards. It should list the target to be so called annex

[edit]

This chart seems backwards. This is listing of places wanting to do the so-called annexing but sometimes one target has multiple suiters. i.e. Both Guyana and Suriname are after theTigri Area area. So too both Venezuela and Guyana are after the Essequibo and then so too Guatemala and Mexico after a half of Belize. Also USA and Canada with Greenland. And India + China + Pakistan forKashmir --CaribDigita (talk)18:10, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
