Usage

[edit]
Use this rcat template inanynamespace.
#REDIRECT[[(target page name)]]{{Rcat shell|{{R from team}}}}
Template{{Rcat shell}} is an alias for theRedirect category shell template, which may be used to add as many appropriate rcats as needed, usually from one to seven, along with their parameters, to a redirect. For more information see the documentation on its template page. This rcat may also tag a redirect individually:
#REDIRECT[[(target page name)]]{{R from team}}
This is in accord with instructions found atWikipedia:REDCAT.
  • Use this rcat to tag any redirect in any namespacefrom a sportsteam to the sporting league of which the team is a member. In many cases with lower-level sporting leagues, the league itself isnotable while the individual teams are not; therefore in such a case, redirecting member teams to their league article is suitable.

Printworthiness

[edit]
Please do not alter the printworthy settings ofany rcat without first notifying theVersion 1.0 Editorial Team, who are responsible for any and all materials, including redirects, that go into a offline version ofWikipedia.
  • Inmain-article namespace, many redirects from sports team titles are considered printworthy; however, there are others that are unprintworthy, so there is no default sort forprintworthiness.
  • In 2003, efforts were begun to support theWikimedia Foundation's goal of increasing access and availability ofWikipedia articles inprinted versions. Some rcats automatically populate eitherCategory:Printworthy redirects orCategory:Unprintworthy redirects by default. Others, like this rcat, do not, and that means it is up to editors to choose which of those categories,Printworthy orUnprintworthy, is appropriate and should be populated. The rcats that are used separately to populate those categories are:
