From the plural form: This is a redirect from a plural noun to its singular form.

Usage

Use this rcat template onmainspace redirects only.

This redirect category (rcat) template populates bothCategory:Redirects from plurals andCategory:Unprintworthy redirects by default. In 2003, efforts were begun to support theWikimedia Foundation's goal of increasing access and availability ofWikipedia articles inprinted versions. Redirects from plural forms are not usually suitable for a printed version. In other words they areunprintworthy. Seebelow for what to do for those uncommon printworthy ones.

Please do not alter the printworthy settings of this rcat without first notifying theVersion 1.0 Editorial Team, who are responsible for any and all materials, including redirects, that go into a printed version ofWikipedia.

Add this rcat to a redirect page (not atalk-page redirect) in the following manner:

Template{{Rcat shell}} is an alias for theRedirect category shell template, which may be used to add as many appropriate rcats as needed, usually from one to seven, along with their parameters, to a redirect. For more information see the documentation on its template page. This rcat may also tag a redirect individually:

Use this rcat to tag any mainspace redirect from theplural noun of asingular target.

Some plurals are printworthy, for example theArabic andLatin forms. When you add this rcat to a redirect that you decide is printworthy, thenuse the unnamed parameter to subdue the unprintworthy category^{[clarification needed]} in the following manner:
