This template is used onapproximately 920 pages and changes may be widely noticed. Test changes in the template's/sandbox or/testcases subpages, or in your ownuser subpage. Consider discussing changes on thetalk page before implementing them.

This template is an inline alternative to{{Cleanup bare URLs}}, for use ONLY with links toplain text files.

Usage

Paste this after a bare-URL reference/link to a plain text file:

It is best to place the taginside a citation, just before the closing</ref> tag:

<ref>http://grao.bg/tna/tab02.txt{{bare URL plain text|date=November 2025}}</ref>

This will still categorize the page for cleanup without cluttering the present paragraph with"^{[bare URL plain text file]}", and it will also help track down the citation to improve by keeping the cleanup tag in the citation. When doing it this way, the date must be manually entered; it cannot be done with the{{Bare URL plain text|{{subst:DATE}}}} shortcut method, becausetemplate substitution does not work inside<ref>...</ref> tags.
