Temnocora is amonospecific genus of marineray-finned fish belonging to thefamilyLiparidae, the snailfishes. Its only species isTemnocora candida, thebigeye snailfish, which is found in the far northernPacific Ocean where it is found at depths of from 64 to 400 metres (210 to 1,312 ft). This species grows to a length of 10.6 centimetres (4.2 in)SL. This species is the only known member of itsgenus.[1] The bigeye snailfish is usually found around sand, pebbles, and rocky bottoms. It is also harmless to humans.[1]
