Telluroketone

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Class of chemical compounds
General struct telluroketone group

Atelluroketone is an analog of aketone in which theoxygen atom has been replaced by atellurium atom. This change makes thefunctional group less stable, due to the larger size and lower electronegativity of tellurium compared to oxygen. Telluroketones consequently require greatersteric andelectronic stabilization.[1]

Telluroketones are a topic of scientific interest in organometallic chemistry due to their unique electronic and structural properties. In particular, they contribute to large HALA effects duringNMR spectroscopy.[2]
