Tegevajaro Miyazaki (テゲバジャーロ宮崎,Tegebājaro Miyazaki) is a Japanesefootball club based inMiyazaki, the capital city ofMiyazaki Prefecture. They currently play in theJ3 League, Japanese third tier of professional football.
Born in 1965 asKadokawa Club, the club have twice changed their name; first they becameAndiamo Kadokawa 1965 in 2004 and thenMSU (Miyazaki Sportsmen United) FC in 2007.[1][2] The current name came only in January 2015:Tegevajaro is a mix formed bytege, the Miyazaki dialect pronunciation of the wordsugoi ("cool, amazing") and the Spanish wordsvaca andpájaro (which mean "cow" and "bird").[3][4] In the logo, you can also visualize theMiyazaki-jingū.
Tegevajaro Miyazaki aspired to join theJ. League; they first aimed for theJ3 League in2017 season, but their first target was to reach theJapan Football League.Nobuhiro Ishizaki was chosen in 2017 to coach the club, while formerJ1 League playersYasuhito Morishima andKeiji Takachi signed for the team.[5]
In the 2020 season, Tegevajaro finished in second position and were promoted to J3 for the first time in the club's history for the 2021 season.
On 24 October 2023, Tegevajaro Miyazaki announcement officially granted J2 License after approval of Club Licensing Board.[6]
