Teepee Creek is ahamlet in northwestAlberta, Canada within theCounty of Grande Prairie No. 1.[2] It is located north ofBezanson and east ofSexsmith, at the intersection ofHighway 674 andHighway 733.
The hamlet is located incensus divisionNo. 19 and in the federal riding ofPeace River.
It was a farming and ranching community that became an oil and gas based economy during the 1980s.
Teepee Creek recorded a population of 25 in the1981 Census of Population conducted byStatistics Canada.[1]
As of 2006, the community hadTeepee Creek School, community hall, fire hall and arena.
Teepee Creek is known to most people for itsstampede. In the 1960s the stampede was the most popular rodeo innorthern Alberta. The first stampede was held in 1917.
