Composition

[edit]

According to Shawn Grant ofThe Source, the lyrical content ofTee's Coney Island focuses “on classic street narratives and the kind of gritty poetry that first put him in the spotlight with his quadruple-platinum hit, "First Day Out"”.[7] Musically, most of the album displays Grizzley's "Detroit style", along with some tracks featuring "additional versatility and sounds",[7] includingAfrobeats influences on "City of God",[7] andR&B on "IDGAF".[8]
