Team Australia representsAustralia in women's internationalroller derby, under theWFTDA rule set, in play such as at theRoller Derby World Cup. The team was first formed to compete at the2011 World Cup inToronto, and finished the tournament in fourth place, beatingTeam Sweden by 126 points 80 in their quarterfinal,[1] but losing toTeam USA 532 to 4 in the semifinal,[2] and toTeam England 203 to 85 in the third-place playoff.[3] Before the event, coach Thigh-dal Wave stated that the team aimed to play against the United States and to beatTeam New Zealand.[4]
Team Australia finished in third place at the2014 Roller Derby World Cup inDallas,[5] and competed in the 2018 World Cup inManchester, where they were defeated in the finals byUSA Roller Derby.[6]
