Tamarin is aNdyuka Maroon village on theCottica River inSuriname. Tamarin was the place of theCatholic mission on the Cottica River, which operated achurch, aboarding school, aclinic, and asawmill.[1] The mission was deserted during theSurinamese Interior War. Only the school is still in operation today.
Since 2011, there has been a road connecting Tamarin to theEast-West Link, via the laterite road that had already connectedWanhatti since 1972.[2]
