Win 10 requiresWDDM (check fromWin 7)

[edit]

According toVerizon,Win 10 minimum requirements include WDDM (1.0 or better?)

  • Graphics card: Microsoft DirectX® 9 graphics devicewith WDDM driver;
Start+R | dxdiag | Display | Drivers: {look for any mention of "WDDM"}
(Start+R | dxdiag | System:{look for any mention of "DirectX")
  • Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz)
  • RAM: 1 gigabyte (GB) (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit) ;{note thata 32b program usually wastes half of any 64b RAM
(Novice explanation:
b=bit; B=byte=8 bits;
A '__-bit memory or machine' means that a 'word' in that system is __ bits.
A word is usually 2, 4, or 8 bytes. = A word is usually 16, 32 or 64 bits.)}
  • Free hard disk space: 16 GB
  • A Microsoft® account and Internet access; see MSN, OneDrive, Hotmail, etc.

WDDM 1.3

[edit]

Article needs update.http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/dn265512(v=vs.85).aspx

- handle resources that are shared between integrated and discrete GPUs.

YUV format ranges in Windows 8.1 Preview An interface that's used to signal user-mode display drivers that video inputs are either in the studio luminance range or in the extended range.

- Wireless displays (Miracast)

- Multiplane overlay support

Supposedly Fermi-based Nvidia GPUs should be 1.3 capable given Win 8.1 and new drivers.

Stop adding things without reliable sources

[edit]

Please, stop adding things without reliable sources as reference. Wikipedia is not an archive where everyone can copy&paste things from the net without reliable sources. Moreover,excessive details, even with proven sources, are against Wikipedia rules. And please, write a decent English. --AlessioT89 (talk)12:34, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

So I made a sunto from a useless copy&paste from Microsoft docs and removed undocumented claims. --AlessioT89 (talk)16:01, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Good example, WDDM 3.2 didn't make it into Windows 11 version 23H2 (which is an incremental update instead of a full build) but instead is appearing in 24H2.2603:7080:C438:E8CE:A025:195A:5438:5291 (talk)18:28, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
At this point, the WDDM 3.2 article continues to be improperly sourced, specifically the news article on 23H2 has no mention of WDDM and neither does the SM6.8 article.2603:7080:C438:E8CE:906F:8EF4:A6CD:A540 (talk)17:41, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
