Hi @Jnestorius, there's a good metonymy question here, and I'm glad someone found it.

The licensee was the Christian Science Monitor Syndicate, Inc., an allied firm of the Christian Science Publishing Society, which printed theMonitor. This structure was necessary because the latter had a policy of only employing Christian Scientists, which was not possible for a broadcast TV station underequal employment opportunity laws.
