Prescription Status

[edit]

It's worth noting that as of July 1st, 2006, Sudafed, Claritin-D and other drugs containing pseudoephedrine will revert to prescription-only status in the state of Oregon.Mojo Tooth19:59, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Efficacy of Phenylphrine

[edit]

I added a quote mentioning the fact the Phenylphrine is not considered effective, but will be used because it will be the last approved decongestant.

I added a few statements mentioning section 711 of the Combat Methamphetamine Epidemic Act of 2005 that reclassifies phenylpropanolamine, pseudoephedrine and ephedrine as Schedule Listed Chemicals. SLCs were reduced by the Federal Pertransaction sales limit from 9 grams to 3.6 grams. The amount recently proposed by the administration requires behind-the-counter storage or locked cabinet storage. I felt this information was necessary to add because this article failed to mention anything about Combat Methamphetamine Epidemic Act.Melissa0402 (talk)23:52, 5 December 2009 (UTC) Melissa[reply]

Sudafed in Australia - article inaccuracy?

[edit]

From the article: "In Australia Sudafed with 60mg of pseudoephedrine is available with a doctor's prescription only."

I just (June 07) purchased "Sudafed 12 hour relief pseudoephedrine hydrochloride 120mg" over the counter from my local chemist without a prescription though I was asked for photo ID.

Sudafed in the UK - article inaccuracy?

[edit]

In the UK, Sudafed with pseudoephedrine is available from pharmacists, up to a maximum of 24 x 60mg per transaction. This is to be reduced to 12 x 60mg in April. Sudafed with the useless ersatz stuff is available OTC and uses the same brand name and similar packaging to the proper stuff, unlike in the US where the difference is obvious.--FarmerPalmer (talk)21:04, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please restore "Sudafed", the article about the brand

[edit]

Currently,Sudafed redirects to "Cold_medicine#Brands", whileSudafed PE redirects toPhenylephrine (article doesn't mention Sudafed brand). There's no explanation given for the term being looked up by the user, which I can't see as being meaningful or helpful to the users. --Kaledomo (talk)17:42, 30 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
