Earwig showed little issues. Though I felt this portion "it can take a minimum of 7 days to hike the Buckley Lake to Mowdade Lake Route. The weather can change extremely fast..." could be better rephrased to avoid being too close to the source text.--ZKang123 (talk·contribs)10:42, 3 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The Snowshoe Lava Field is the southernmost of two lava fields on the Big Raven Plateau – I think there's something wrong with the comparative grammar, since we use "most" for more than two objects. I think for the entire sentence it would be better to say that the lava field is located in the centre/south of the plateau with the other located on the northern end. Or something
Mount Edziza Provincial Park surrounds the Snowshoe Lava Field; it was established in 1972 to showcase the volcanic landscape. I'm unsure about the use of "showcase" here.
The source of Sezill Creek, Shaman Creek and several unnamed tributaries of Sezill Creek and Taweh Creek is Tencho Glacier I think this should be reworded such that Tencho Glacier is mentioned earlier. Something like: ((tq|Tencho Glacier, which lies lies at the northeastern end of the Snowshoe Lava Field, is the source of Sezill Creek, Shaman Creek and several unnamed tributaries of Sezill Creek and Taweh Creek}}
The cause of volcanic activity in the Northern Cordilleran Volcanic Province is thought to be due to rifting of the North American Cordillera driven by changes in relative plate motion between the North American and Pacific plates. would suggest simplifying/splitting this sentence
Other GA reviewers had no problems with this sentence being used in other GAs. Geology is a complex field so it's not always possible to simplify wordings.Volcanoguy20:52, 4 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Well, maybe a little fix in punctuation (i.e.The cause of volcanic activity in the Northern Cordilleran Volcanic Province is thought to be due to rifting of the North American Cordillera, driven by changes in relative plate motion between the North American and Pacific plates.
It may be the remains of a parasitic cone "may be"? Given the claim sounds rather uncertain, I would probably attribute this statement (e.g. "According to Souther,..." or "Souther theorised...") Similarly for other statements.
A short distance beyond the trim lines of Tencho Glacier are SLF-6, SLF-7 and SLF-8; SLF-7 is Coffee Crater. Almost thought there's a typo here until I see the semi-colon.I felt the latter sentence should be separated but even then it would be awkward on its own.
SLF-11 is the only subaerial eruptive centre in the Snowshoe Lava Field with no name Consider "without a name"
None of the lava flows from these three subaerial eruptive centres display any evidence of having been quenched by water, nor do any of the pyroclastic cones –show/display any evidence of (past) quenching by water,...
Reworded to "None of the lava flows from these three subaerial eruptive centres show any evidence of having been quenched by water at the time of their eruption, nor do any of the pyroclastic cones."Volcanoguy22:01, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The youngest subaerial eruptive centre, SLF-12, is The Saucer which appears –The Saucer, designed SLF-12, is the youngest subaerial eruptive centre which appears...
both of which come within 45 km (28 mi) – Might simplify to:both coming within 45 km (28 mi)...
Mowdade Lake about 15 km (9.3 mi) southeast of the Snowshow Lava Field is also of significant size – "is also of significant size" sounds a bit odd and encyclopedic here. And I think you are missing some commas.
Would also split that sentence from "does not require an authorisation". I would in fact put a contrasting connector before (e.g. "However, landing on the lake does not require private aircraft.")
For ref 9, regarding this part:Mount Edziza Provincial Park surrounds the Snowshoe Lava Field; it was established in 1972 to showcase the volcanic landscape. I think it would benefit if you update with this interactive map link[1]
Ref 31: I would also attribute who exactly mapped Tennena Cone into the four subdivisions, cos my impression is that Hungerford et al. 2014 did so.
You are correct, it was Hungerford et al. 2014 who mapped it into four subdivisions. Therefore I think it would be redundant to mention Hungerford et al. since that is the source.Volcanoguy15:35, 4 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ref 46: I would attribute the fact that the 7-day hike is based on approx by BC Parks.
That's all for me. Also the photos also seems to be under a free license. That said, for File:Big Raven Formation.png, I just want to know if the source is open source or otherwise.
