Move

[edit]

The lady never became empress-consort of Austria since her husband shot himself before he assumed the throne. Therefore request to move to her maiden form of title.Gryffindor12:24, 10 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Search Issues

[edit]

Typing

Stephanie of Belgium

in the search box doesn't find this page. However, typing

"Stephanie of Belgium"

does. A subtle point, but rather user unfriendly, no?

Considering this lady never became empress-consort of Austria, shouldn't this article's name revert to her maiden form of "Princess Stéphanie of Belgium"?Wikipedia:Naming conventions (names and titles) on naming queen consorts (point 9) does not apply in this case, but point 4.Gryffindor11:21, 10 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Memoirs

[edit]

What conceivable court could have prevented Princess Stéphanie from publishing her memoirs? Austria was a republic in 1935, and I imagine it had other worries (such as imminent annexation by Germany) than what was in the memoirs of a defunct princess.Gsandi13:40, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Defunct? Princess Stéphanie wanted to publish her memoirs and in 1935 she was alive. Maybe Austria government was afraid that the truth about Mayerling would be disclosed.

Photo

[edit]

Is the present photo really Stephanie of Belgium? It doesn't seem her. It is more like Queen Alexandra of UK, wife of Edward VII.

Archduchess Maria Antonia

[edit]

I am struggling to find this person, is it possible that you are referring to Archduchess Maria Annunciata of Austria (13 July 1876 – 8 April 1961) who was only 4 year of age in 1880 when the quest for a bride seems to have been ongoing? If so then this would match as she was indeed Rudolph's first cousin and the daughter of a Portuguese Infanta but it would seem that her age was likely to be a greater obstacle to her marriage to Rudolph than her status as a first cousin. If this is the case then a correction of the second name and link to the relevant web page would seem a positive addition, however if not then it would really help to have the full and proper details of this potential bride whom I can only assume must have been a second or third cousin.— Precedingunsigned comment added by92.11.104.107 (talk)11:25, 20 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
