I removed Kyrgyzstan part, since this kind of wrestling is unknown in Kyrgyz Republic and notpopular as stated, I myself Kyrgyz and know this and the source presented is in farsi so i cannotcheck this statement. The only popular kind of wrestling among Kyrgyz people, besides mainstreamstyles, is traditional Kuresh.—Precedingunsigned comment added byTorebay (talk •contribs)19:13, 25 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
4,000 years, eh? Funny, the first mention of the earliest Iranian tribes dates to some 2,800 years ago.dab(𒁳)10:52, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The imageImage:International Zurkhaneh Sports Federation.JPG is used in this article under a claim offair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets therequirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have anexplanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

Two public domain photos relating to this wrestling style have been removed without proper rationale:File:Razaz01.jpg andFile:Antoin Sevruguin zoorkhaneh.jpg. In their place we keep getting this addedFile:International Zurkhaneh Sports Federation.JPG which is about a gym - a distinct topic from the sport ofVarzesh-e Pahlavani. It really shouldn't be the primary image for the article. Can we stop removing valid images from this sport please?Hutcher (talk)17:30, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I keep seeing the claim that koshti pahlevani is a submission wrestling style, but haven't found a single reliable source. And it keeps getting repeated without credible explanation. The IZSF rules don't use submission as a winning condition and actually forbid "pulling fingers or twisting joints, in the opposite direction", and "seizing, pressing or hitting the sensitive limbs of the opponent body which will be led to the opponents heavy injury that stop him of continuing the competition." So that effectively disqualifies every submission hold. The footage I've seen of matches also don't have any submission attempts.Spagooder (talk)22:39, 3 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The article describes a form of training and display but not competition. Since this is a sport included in the Islamic Solidarity Games, there is presumably a competitive variety. How does that workBill (talk)20:57, 25 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
