– I cannot find any English language source referring to this as "Militar" (all I find refer to it with its English translation, "military"), with "militar" being the actual Spanish word for "military" which, seemingly, was left untranslated from the title. Plus, the sources I see actually translatedirectorio as "directorate", rather than "directory" ([1][2][3][4][5]). Thus, it should use "military directorate" as perWP:COMMONNAME andWP:ENGLISH.

Also, as perWP:NCCAPS, since the title does not use "directory" as a proper name by itself but, rather, as a common word ([the military directorateof Primo de Rivera], rather than [the Military Directorate] as inFrench Directory), it should be left uncapitalized (in the same way as other pages for government cabinets, particularly for Spanish governments—such asThird government of Pedro Sánchez—but also others such asStarmer ministry,Merz cabinet, etc.). The same would apply toCivil Directory of Primo de Rivera, but in that case there are no translation issues. Since both titles should follow the same structure and formatting—being so closely related—requesting a multiple page move seems wiser.

Finally, the full "Miguel Primo de Rivera" name should be added to respectWP:CONSISTENCY with other articles on governments in Spain (Third government of Pedro Sánchez,Premiership of Pedro Sánchez, etc.), as well asWP:PRECISE (Miguel was not the only politically relevant "Primo de Rivera", as his eldest son,José Antonio Primo de Rivera, was the founder ofFalange Española andFalange Española de las JONS, which would provide the political platforms for thedictatorship of Francisco Franco).Impru20talk 07:53, 16 August 2025 (UTC)— Relisting. TarnishedPathtalk12:09, 23 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  • Obvious support as nom.Impru20talk07:54, 16 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • Inclined to support, but I am seeing 'directory' more often than 'directorate'.Srnec (talk)00:52, 19 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Note that some sources using "directory" are actuallyWikipedia mirrors ([6]), whereas others are very recent or typically direct translations of works/theses in Spanish ([7], suggesting they could have used the term used in Wikipedia as a source), whereas "directorate" is used by more reputable sources and journals (aside of the ones mentioned above, which includeThe New York Times:[8][9][10][11], or evengovernment sources). The various definitions of the words that we can find also support "directorate" over "directory" as a less ambiguous term (even if both can be used interchangeably sometimes):
    • Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary:
      • Directorate[12][13]: 1)a section of a government department in charge of one particular activity; 2)the group of directors who run a company.

    • Merriam-Webster:

We also have the disambiguation pageDirectorio literally translating the word asSpanish forDirectorate.
Also, while not directly related tothis subject, theCIA has also used the term "military directorate" in the context of Spain ([16]).Impru20talk19:51, 20 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, the dictionary is why I'm inclined to support, but I am not checking Wikipedia mirrors and news sites. GScholar results:
46 hits for "civil directory" "Primo de rivera" vs25 hits for "civil directorate" "Primo de rivera"
161 hits for "military directory" "Primo de rivera" vs102 hits for "military directorate" "Primo de rivera"

Not a spectacular difference, and many of those are a result of Spanish translations (in Spanish, it seems more straightforward to translatedirectorio as "directory" rather than "directorate" due to the former being shorter, despite the latter being actually less ambiguous). Nonetheless, I think we can source both in the lead section so that people know that both are used (as perWP:UEIA; a good example of this would beFrench Directory).Impru20talk05:57, 21 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
