Taxonomy: For all marine species, Project Gastropods uses the taxonomy in the online databaseWoRMS. When starting a new article, do not use sources of taxonomic information that predate the 2017 revision for all gastropod groups ("Revised Classification, Nomenclator and Typification of Gastropod and Monoplacophoran Families" by Philippe Bouchet & Jean-Pierre Rocroi, Bernhard Hausdorf, Andrzej Kaim, Yasunori Kano, Alexander Nützel, Pavel Parkhaev, Michael Schrödl and Ellen E. Strong in Malacologia, 2017, 61(1–2): 1–526.) (can be dowloaded atResearchgate.net), substituting the previous classification of 2005Taxonomy of the Gastropoda (Bouchet & Rocroi, 2005). Mattheus Marinus Schepman

[edit]

We need help from a Gastropologist and/or Malacologist atMattheus Marinus Schepman. New aricle. Should be worth aWP:DYK easily, if we can get this up to 1500 characters. I found 40 "See also's" by ptyping ""Schepman" intol wikipedia, and that was just the first 40. Just a beginning.7&6=thirteen ()15:50, 31 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

List of museum collections

[edit]
  • I fail to see the evidentiary basis for some of these entries. I'm pretty sure that the Natural History Museum in London and the Muséum national d'histoire naturelle in Paris have huge collections of molluscs, far in excess of some of the museums listed. I can't see the point of making vacuous claims. Either there is evidence or there is not. If there is not, we should not say it.Macdonald-ross (talk)19:31, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Likely AI generated text

[edit]

Hi - I added the AI generated tag here regarding the edits by Daniel Cavallari in 2024, which display severalcharacteristic signs of AI text, and thus need review for accuracy, source-to-text-integrity, tone issues, etc.Gnomingstuff (talk)14:45, 29 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
