The implication that theCatechism of the Catholic Church represents the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth is a POV statement to which many would object, either on doctrinal grounds (e.g. Christians who feel Catholics get it wrong) or historical ones (e.g. those who question whether Catholicism particularly, or Christianity in general, reflects the views of the historical Jesus). How do people feel about temporarily replacing DYK with an excerpt from what we call "good articles", something like "from Today's good article"? to me DYK seems very lost at the moment (too many niche topics, too much repetition, the W&M hook wacked out promotion, etc.) These are just my thoughts.781h (talk)05:13, 15 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

DYK is meant to highlight new content (either new articles or newly expanded ones). If the hook is interesting, who cares if the topic is niche? With nine hooks a day, there will always be something that someone dislikes that another would like. If anything, featuring one good article would exasperate these complaints as GAs also deal in niche topics, are overrepresented in certain fields, and blocks out other articles from being featured.
