  • Where is the error? An exact quotation using{{!xt}} of the text in question helps.
  • Offer a correction if possible using{{xt}}.
  • References are helpful, especially when reporting an obscure factual or grammatical error.
  • Time zones. The Main Page runs onCoordinated Universal Time (UTC, currently 21:38 on 17 February 2026) and is not adjusted to your local time zone.
  • Can you resolve the problem yourself? If the error lies primarily in the content of an article linked from the Main Page, fix the problem there before reporting it here. Text on the Main Page generally defers to the articles with bolded links. Upcoming content on the Main Page is usually onlyprotected from editing beginning 24 hours before its scheduled appearance. Before that period, you canbe bold and fix any issues yourself.
  • Do not use{{edit fully-protected}} on this page, which willnot get a faster response. It is unnecessary, because this page is not protected, and causes display problems.(See the bottom ofthis revision for an example.)
  • No chit-chat. Lengthy discussions should be moved to a suitable location elsewhere, such as the talk page of the relevant article or project.
  • Actual errors only. Failures of subjective criteria such as taste are not errors.
  • Respect other editors. Another user wrote the text you want changed, or reported an issue they see in something you wrote. Everyone's goal should be producing the best Main Page possible. The compressed time frame of the Main Page means sometimes action must be taken before there has been time for everyone to comment.Be civil to fellow users.
  • Reports are removed when resolved. Once an error has been addressed or determined not to be an error, or the item has been rotated off the Main Page, the report will be removed from this page. Checkthe revision history for a record of any discussion or action taken; noarchives are kept.

  • ... that theFlying Padres use aviation to spread the teaching of Jesus Christ?

The implication that theCatechism of the Catholic Church represents the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth is a POV statement to which many would object, either on doctrinal grounds (e.g. Christians who feel Catholics get it wrong) or historical ones (e.g. those who question whether Catholicism particularly, or Christianity in general, reflects the views of the historical Jesus). Furthermore, the title "Christ" is an epithet representing how Christianity (and Islam and a few smaller religions) view Jesus, is often avoided by non-Christians for that reason, and is generally not used in wikivoice. --Tamzin[cetacean needed](they|xe|🤷)16:22, 17 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@Tamzin Any suggestions for fixing it? I brought this up as promotional when it was on the original wording ("... to spread the gospel?"; would that work?) and then didn't pay attention to it and it must have been swapped out.HurricaneZetaC16:28, 17 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
The target article uses the term "evangelize"; I'd be happier if that replaced the current, and surprising, POV wording:* ... that theFlying Padres use aviation to evangelize? (with a "z" for this US topic).Bazza 7 (talk)16:37, 17 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Done That’s clearly better and makes it NPOV. There might be even better ways to deal with this, but for now, it removes an issue.Schwede6616:45, 17 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you guys lists mostly bad things.

Gee i was excited to open wikipedia on my birthday to see the on this day, you guys picked mostly tragedies regarding death and a rape. You couldve sprinkled something good there.Gabrielrochell (talk)14:05, 11 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to see different things posted, you are welcome to participate in the processes that determine what appears on the Main Page.331dot (talk)14:30, 11 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Bad things tend to be more likely to draw attention and thus have sources about them that we can use to write articles about them. --User:Khajidha (talk) (contributions)14:51, 11 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I see but like, Nelson Mandela was released on this day, the Beatles recorded their first album, Pope Benedict resigned
Gabriel Boric the president outgoing of chile was born this day.
Frank Herbert died on this day, so did Whitney Houston
And I only know those things because I know the things that happened on my birthday, but now Im wondering if every day the picks are so "off"
You pick 5 things on this day, and 3 are tragedies.
How does one take part on this process? I was looking forward to see what things you guys would list today but I really feel dissapointed.Gabrielrochell (talk)15:20, 11 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Those would be items for the On This Day box, while I the News focuses on current events.Masem (t)16:02, 11 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
The original post clearly refers to On This Day.WP:OTD explains that section and how to contribute to it. The selections for Feb 11 are handled atWikipedia:Selected anniversaries/February 11.Modest Geniustalk20:06, 11 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know... I see two holidays, the founding of a town (even if it was short lived), and the first televised sci-fi broadcast. Those all seem like positive things. There were also the three negative things you mentioned. Perhaps your impression of today's OTD being all bad is an example of how bad things draw more attention. ~ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving22:51, 11 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Temporarily replace DYK with Today's GA

How do people feel about temporarily replacing DYK with an excerpt from what we call "good articles", something like "from Today's good article"? to me DYK seems very lost at the moment (too many niche topics, too much repetition, the W&M hook wacked out promotion, etc.) These are just my thoughts.781h (talk)05:13, 15 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I think that GA is not FA, that having a solo spotlight at TFA is something we give to recognize hard work and we shouldn't diminish that by doing the same for the lesser accomplishment of GA.Wehwalt (talk)13:20, 15 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
There is already a process for recently promoted GAs to be on DYK.Lee Vilenski(talkcontribs)13:21, 15 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
On the topic of repetition in the DYK, it seems for the past month most DYK versions have contained one fact relating toGenshin Impact. The periods in which the DYK does not have a Genshin Impact fact are between 1 day or 3 days, I think.Lethal Bracken (talk)22:16, 15 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
That and Jilly Cooper, which is either upcoming or has run very recently.781h (talk)02:10, 16 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see how this is an issue as nine articles are featured in DYK at once. Having one topic regularly featured in DYK is easily diluted across a week, let alone one month,GGOTCC05:10, 16 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
DYK is meant to highlight new content (either new articles or newly expanded ones). If the hook is interesting, who cares if the topic is niche? With nine hooks a day, there will always be something that someone dislikes that another would like. If anything, featuring one good article would exasperate these complaints as GAs also deal in niche topics, are overrepresented in certain fields, and blocks out other articles from being featured.
And as someone who promoted several of the W&M hooks, how did it "wacked out" the promotion system?GGOTCC05:14, 16 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
More on the "too niche" thing, DYK is supposed to draw people towards new content that they might not find otherwise, so is perfect for niche topics.Lee Vilenski(talkcontribs)10:03, 16 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
But a little forethought would be appreciated. If you are working on 10 Jilly Cooper novels, or 37 tropical fish species, or 15 darts tournaments, etc. maybe don't turn in each and every one as a single blurb. Especially if you can't find much different to say about each one. --User:Khajidha (talk) (contributions)21:38, 17 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
