Name

[edit]

Is this information correct? Born "Irene Chan Kee Eng". She doesn't look Asian to me. I tried to find information on the web but there's very few about her and on the website link (bottom of the page) it was mentioned that she was born "Pauline Matthews".

Someone should clarify this.

I don't know where this information comes from ? She's definitely a Yorkie and not of Asian descent.

If she was born Pauline Matthews, how did she come to call herself Kiki Dee? Is there a story behind that?

Awards

[edit]

"During the 1970s and 1980s was regularly voted the top UK female singer". Really?? This needs sourcing or should be deleted. As an artist who had only 3 small hits in the entire 80s in the UK singles and albums charts it's inconceivable she was voted 'top UK female singer' during that time.Vauxhall1964 (talk)01:49, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Accident! HELP!

[edit]

Got into the Discography inadvertently and before I knew it, something happened to the HTML there. Attempted to correct, but still not 100%. All the information is still there, but the layout is certainly off!— Precedingunsigned comment added byAndyprod1 (talkcontribs)23:40, 20 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It's now back to where it was, I think."Never bite off more than you can chew" - eitherConfusius, or my mum.

Northern soul

[edit]

Kiki Dee is very much a Northern soul artist. If she intended to be so is another issue but that is true of many who have found their songs popular on this circuit. Her 2011 album 'I'm Kiki Dee' is from the 60's and, according to the Amazon review, 'Kiki Dee's profile remains high amongst collectors of 60's Brit Girls, Northern Soul, and the massive crossover market of mainstream pop from the continued popularity of her live appearances. Her 'On a Magic Carpet Ride' appears on the 2011 album 'Northern Soul's Guilty Secrets'[1] is highly collectible with copies going for over £300 [http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/musicblog/2011/jan/28/kiki-dee-reissue] and is played on stations such as the BBC under the Northern Soul genre[2]. It is also used on the 2010 film 'Soul Boy' - about Northern Soul.[3]--Egghead06 (talk)06:53, 7 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
