I'm a Japanese. There are great mistake in this article. So I edited this article to inform people all over the world true. But I'm not good at English. Therefore there might be mistakes in grammar. Where was the landing at Surat Thani? AFAIK there is no coastal village named Ban Don, that is the old name of Surat Thani town itself. The whole section should be enlarged - but sadly I have no real information to do it myself. I only know that the province hall caught fire during the fighting and burned down, and also heard the story that the Japanese at first entered Tha Thong river instead of the Tapi, thus arriving at the town delayed. An editor has added that Thai forces were involved in the Japanese invasion of Malaya. While I know they occupied several northern Malay states with the agreement of the Japanese later in the war, I can not find anything to support them being directly involved in the invasion and conquest of Malaya.
