Combined death toll problem

[edit]

So, according to my math, the combined death toll given the numbers in the template, is 217,500 rather than 212,500. Should we correct the figure then?Gorgedweller (talk)10:11, 16 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Corrected it a while ago. Hope it doesn't hurt79.164.72.106 (talk)20:00, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

War in Iraq (2013–2017)Second Iraq WarSecond Iraq War – The proposed title is more recognizable and understandable to the readers. It is precise as well as more concise than the current lengthier title. "Second Iraq War" is also the more popular common name than the current title. (Ngram search results) .Some readers could be confused by the current title and equate it with the war waged by theUnited States inIraq during 2003-2011, which is known as theIraq war.Shadowwarrior8 (talk)03:12, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Rename the article

[edit]

Should we perhaps rename the article to Iraqi civil war, or should we say, second Iraqi civil war, just like Syrian civil war and first and second Libyan civil war?Iuiopaz (talk)16:34, 13 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please check top templates with previous discussions about the name.Shadow4dark (talk)17:20, 13 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Casualties in infobox

[edit]

Bedandbreakfast118, inthis edit, you amended the Islamic State casualties from 95,360+ to 98,411+ without an edit summary to explain this. There are four sources cited in support of the figure but these are unchanged as a result of your edit. Would you please explain how this figure is arrived at in respect to the four cited sources.Cinderella157 (talk)09:16, 10 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Whoever estimated the casualties for the 4 pages added up incorrectly. The new figure, if you look though the sources, is accurate to the combined stated militants who were killed from 2014-2017. Also it might have been me who counted wrong the last time, but I don't remember.(Either way the original original figure was like 129,000 or something which was totally inaccurate so if I had gotten to the 95,000 figure it still would have been an improvement.)Bedandbreakfast118 (talk)18:19, 10 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
wait no I was wrong I calculated the original figure wrong the total casualties were 129,045. Totally screwed up here, absolutely on me. Will not happen again chief.Bedandbreakfast118 (talk)18:22, 10 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
