Fair use rationale for Image:Hamish Brown - Travels.jpg

[edit]

Image:Hamish Brown - Travels.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used underfair use but there is noexplanation or rationale as to why its use inthis Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to theboilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent withfair use.

Please go tothe image description page and edit it to include afair use rationale. Using one of the templates atWikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described oncriteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at theMedia copyright questions page. Thank you.

Ferries??

[edit]

I'd check my (very battered) copy ofHamish's Mountain Walk, but the wife has just driven off with it for her lunchtime reading. But I'm pretty sure that the forms of transport used were foot, bicycle (as described) and sea kayak, not ferries. He does mention taking the ferry onto Mull before the start of the Walk, but then kayaked from Mull to the mainland near Oban (not sure if he picked up the bike from there to Loch Etive). Several stretches of bicycling to move around between mountain groups, then the kayak and bicycle again across Kyle Rhea to get onto Skye, and kayak across Kyle Akin to finish the mainland part of the walk.

He may have used ferries on the trip that involved Ireland - I got that one from the library.Aidan Karley (talk)06:27, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I've just looked at the book and he did use the ferry "Columba" to return to Oban after climbing Ben More on Mull on Friday 5th April.Mick Knapton (talk)10:51, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
