need to be careful taking out links that don't function as it may be that they just need to be directed to the german wiki pages by using the :de prefix— Precedingunsigned comment added byGroomer (talk •contribs) 03:48, August 18, 2005
There's a reason why the pages are linked with wiki links: so that pages can interact with each other, and so people can acquire more knowledge. There's also a reason why people come to the English Wikipedia: to read the articles in English. In short: I think that it's strange to link to articles in the German Wikipedia on the English Wikipedia.
So is there a reason why nearly all wiki links in this article direct to the German articles, or could we just change them all to English?Ghent16:05, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The reason that so many of the links are to German wiki is that the article was originally in German and when I translated it I simply used the :de link. I doubt that many of the links have an english version - something for another day.Groomer 22:10, 30 May '07 (BST)
Why is the word "U-Bahn" always used in this article. You should replace it with subway or underground.Oli W 93 (talk)20:45, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
London has the Underground, Paris has the Metro and New York has the Subway. Germany has the U-Bahn; it's the proper name. It's not wrong to translate it (and I'm all for translating where possible), but IMHO U-Bahn is certainly acceptable in this case.--Bermicourt (talk)22:36, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It also helps differentiate from the S-Bahn - both systems have under- and overground sectionsLowattboy (talk)08:35, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Good point, well made. --Bermicourt (talk)15:31, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I am from Germany, and the U-Bahn drives not just in Norderstedt and Hamburg. They are in Ahrensburg and Großhansdorf, too! --LaBumm (talk)06:25, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
