Resolution is 4/3 bigger horizontally and vertically than older HD 8.9in. However PPI is more that 4/3 more imlying it's a little smaller. Could still (both) be rounded towards 8.9 (or PPI wrong?). Amazon did not reset the Generation number to 1 when they went from HD to HDX

So what are referred-to here as HDX Gen 1 and 2 are actually Gen 3 and 4 !
